NZ Indian Funeral Service
A funeral service where most visitors arrive in the worst week of their lives, on a phone, needing a phone number and a straight answer.

The problem
Almost nobody browses a funeral director's website. They arrive with a death that has already happened, often at night, needing to know who to call and what happens next. Anything that slows that down is a failure of the design regardless of how it looks.
The service also carries specific cultural requirements around Hindu and Sikh rites, repatriation to India, and timing. Families needed to see those handled before they would call, and a generic funeral template says nothing about any of it.
What we did
The phone number sits at the top of every page and does not move. Below it, in plain language, what to do in the first hour.
We wrote the service pages around the questions families actually ask: how quickly a cremation can be arranged, what repatriation to India involves, which rites the team can accommodate, and what things cost. Publishing that last one removed a call families found difficult to make.
The design stays quiet. Restrained typography, generous space, a warm accent rather than corporate blue, and no motion or interruption anywhere. Fast on a phone, because the connection quality of someone standing in a hospital corridor is not something we control.
Where it landed
The site launched as a resource a family can use at 2am without help. It gives the business a clear position on the cultural work it does, which the previous site left unsaid.
The client stayed involved through the whole build, and the direction came out of a genuine back and forth about brand and tone rather than a template selection.
“Kage Works dove deeply into our business, consulting us on brand direction, colours, and the overall website. They just get it.”
